Electronic health records (nearly synonymous with electronic medical records or EMRs) have increased the documentation burden of physicians.To reduce the inefficiency associated with implementation of a new electronic health record system (like Epic, Cerner, etc.), one group notes that more doctors are asking for scribe so that the physicians can continue practicing medicine like they did with paper charts while having "someone else document in the system."
